Acupuncture and Pain

Since the 5th and 2nd centuries BC, in China, acupuncture has been used together with the moxibustion for treating pain.

The analgesic mechanism of acupuncture works at different levels of human body. It is a treatment both symptomatic, for stimulating the endorphine production that is a powerful endogenous analgesic, and also a base treatment, for stimulating the self-regulating and self-repairing capability of the body intervening at the nervous, immunological and endocrine systems, among others.

Treating neuralgias and other kinds of pain of unknown origin, inflammatory pains due to any kind of specific or non-specific inflammation, spasmodic pain, muscular and bone pain.

It is suitable for neurovascular cephalea, migraine, trigeminal neuralgia, sciatica, rheumatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, escapulohumeral periarthritis, bursitis, tendinitis, sprain, cervical arthritis, spinal disc herniation, herpes zoster, endometriosis, blocking of pudendal nerve, etc.
